Madhubani is one of the oldest forms of Indian folk art. It is said that, on the occasion of Lord Ram and Sita wedding whole Mithilanchal was decorated like a bride and the Madhubani also called as Mithila art was used to decorate the walls. Often characterized by complex geometrical patterns, these paintings are known for representing ritual content for particular occasions, including festivals, religious rituals, etc.
